The Hassan II Golf Trophy

The Hassan II Golf Trophy is an annual golf tournament in Morocco hosted by Prince Moulay Rachid and named for his father, the late King Hassan II. Established in 1971, the tournament was initially an invitational pro-am for top professionals, but has since become a European Tour event.

The tournament takes place at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, except for a few years when it was held at the Golf du Palais Royal in Agadir. The winner receives a gold dagger inlaid with jewels.

In 2023 Canadian golfer Stephen Ames won the Trophy Hassan II in Rabat, Morocco, by finishing with a nine-under 210, five shots ahead of Mark Hensby of Australia, who was runner-up. Ames parred all 18 holes on the final day of the tournament to secure his victory, marking his third career Champions Tour title. Hensby missed a birdie putt at the 12th hole that would have tied for the lead and ended up with a 2-over 75 for Saturday.
